World Cup Group by Group Preview

Group A South Africa +650 Mexico +350 Uruguay +350 France -110 The host country South Africa team will be hard-pressed to escape this group even with overwhelming crowd support. The second place qualifier in CONCACAF, Mexico has made it past the group stage in four-straight World Cups. Uruguay is back after failing to qualify for the 2006 World Cup. They will mainly be gunning for Mexico to grab the second round of 16 spot in Group A, but are capable of an upset over France. France probably shouldn’t be here after Thierry Henry scored on a handball against Ireland. Their poor qualifying play has some upset potential, so keep an eye on them. Group B Argentina -190 Nigeria +400 South Korea +1000 Greece +550 Argentina is a tremendously talented team and no one would be surprised to see them win it all, but they also have some serious melt-down potential. Nigeria barely squeaked in with a squad that isn’t nearly as strong as recent Nigerian teams. They might be getting a little too much credit for past success.
